The article I read was "The Simple 4 Step System for Rocking All of Your 2017 Goals' this article is by blogger Liz Froment. This article talks about how we overwhelm ourselves with so many goals we want to accomplish and this causes us to pile them up but not to do anything about them. There are four steps that Liz followed and she found that this helped her complete her goals without putting so much thought into it. Step one think. Think about all your goals and then pick the top five and focus on those, this way you don't feel over whelmed. Step two plan and chunkify. Plan out how to achieve this goals and set time limits for how long you want/need to give yourself. Step three act. This is where you take all your planning and actually get the process done. This tends to be the hardest but you have to push yourself. Step four celebrate. Be proud of yourself and help yourself to keep moving forward. The reason I chose this article is because every year we always have to set a new years goal and I feel as if I never follow it or I do for a week and then give up and maybe do it on and off. I think this helps to set standards and and helps to time out when you need to get what done. This sounds like it could be fun and easy if you follow the steps to a key. Check out the article below

From the article 15 Qualities of Mentally Tough People the first thing I found I need to work on is "...yet they don't dwell on mistakes" this explains how on you pay attention to the negatives in your life it tends to bring you down creating stress and negative emotions. I often tend to do this, I'll constantly think of what's wrong and what's going on in life. I don't usually tend to give myself a break from thinking about all the negatives. To fix this the article talks about how I could focus on actions on how to better myself, this will then cause a more positive outlook on life and for my well being. Another saying I like is "they're relentlessly positive" this talks about how you shouldn't focus your attention and effort into the things that you can't control. I tend to over worry about things that I have no control over, I think I would be a lot happier if I didn't over worry everything. Try to focus on positive attention and effort into things you can control to make you a happier and more positive person. Something I'm good at can be described from the article as "...and they don't limit the joys of others" this explains how everyone deserves to be given a chance, not to pass judgement onto others. I feel like I am pretty good at giving everyone a fair chance that they deserve, everyone should get treated right by everyone, but since that doesn't happen each individual that is nice to someone may have a huge impact on that persons life.
Mike Ilicth was a very important and a man with a huge impact. One of the very important things I think he did was followed his heart, the article "Mike Ilitch loves his teams as much as we do" talks about how timing wasn't right when Mike made his purchases but he did it regardless of what others said, and now look how it turned out. People there's always going to be a downside to decisions that you have to make, but you won't find out how it ends unless you go for it. Mike always followed his dreams, he didn't necessarily want to own the baseball team but he did it, he did it because since he was a kid he always had a passion for baseball. Buying the team gave him the chance to change what he thought was wrong and make sure the teams were up to standards, not just because they were good at what they did but because they were loyal people as well. It's always important to follow your dreams, it may be hard or stressful but in the end it's worth it. It can impact your life and your happiness big time. Lastly, Mike cared so much about others. He said his number one priority when buying what he did was his fans, many people care so much about themselves now days and don't take the time to appreciate others. You have to put yourself first in situations, but you also have to know how to put others first and know what is best for them.
Two of the most important life essentials from a article "A Good Life Contains These 6 Essentials" by Jim Rohn are good friends and don't miss anything. Good friends are always beyond important. Good friends can become family overtime and always have impacts on your life. There's some positive and even the negative but overtime you find out the type of friends that you get along with most, but it's still always nice to meet new people. Jim mentions how we have mutual and casual friends, both are great to have and I agree. Every type of friend you have, especially ones who have a positive impact is what makes the good impact on your life. Don't miss anything, I never really thought about it however, I really like how Jim puts it. He says you should take every opportunity, and "if you live well, you learn well". Jim talks about how his dad takes every chance he had to go out and do what he could. I never really thought about it but I think it's a good idea, the more you do the more lessons you learn and the more you have to tell stories about. I think I should focus on being more adventurous. Jim Rohn was an American entrepreneur, author and a very motivational speaker. He was born in Washington and died in California. He shared his ideas for over 46 years and died at age 79.
Zig Ziglar says that "Attitude Makes All the Difference". After watching the video it really helped me to think about various situations where this proves to be true, probably mostly all situations. I liked how he talked about when you're about to lose something how you tend to see the value then. I just know so many people around me who take so much for granted and then get upset when they're about to lose what they have. It's easy to take things for granted without any thoughts when you're doing it, just like it's easy to be upset when you lose it. I think sometimes I take advice for granted. Sometimes I get good advice and I'll just blow it off, but then later down the road I'll be thinking that the advice has such a big impact and I should follow it more. Another thing is he talked about how you should pay attention to the positives more than the negatives. It's constantly so easy to be negative, being negative doesn't take effort really, being positive doesn't have to either if you just change your mind set. I'm thankful to have a teacher who constantly is reminding me to stay positive. I'm always cranky it seems like, but after talking it definitely can make a huge difference to remind me why I should be positive. It's not like for my whole life I can always be positive, but I always realize especially in high school I get so negative about things that turn out fine.
This week I want to start eating fully healthy again and going to the gym more often. I was doing well and then got a little off of track. This month I just have to focus on school and I want to apply for a summer camp program for the special needs. Also this month I should focus on filling out more scholarships. And this year I will begin college in August, also hopefully move out over the summer. Dale Carnegie was known for his leadership classes and also public speaking classes. He is also known for his book "How to Win Friends and Influence People". A article I read talks about he had said to not kick a book down even when it may not be the greatest book. This makes me think about how people become so quick to judge and not give people and or things chances. If more people thought like him maybe they would think before judging so quickly. "...If you do the little jobs well the big ones will tend to take care of themselves." I like the ending of this quote because people tend to give up easily on small tasks when if they would just do the small tasks so many bigger things could open up.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/05/books/books-of-the-times-classic-advice-please-leave-well-enough-alone.html In my life friends are very important to me, I thinks it is always important that you have your friends by your side. Especially the friends that you know will always be loyal to you. Friends that stick by you through the good and bad times are always helpful and beneficial at many different times. Problems it seems that there's always something new coming up, but I would say that working on handling certain situations in different ways makes a huge difference. I need to get better at being in a good mood, I let stuff bother really easily. In my life I feel like having less problems would help, I feel like there's always negativity going around and then I get sad and annoyed. I feel like I focus too much on stuff that I really have no control of and instead I should focus more on my future and what will make me more successful in my life as I grow. It seems as if it's often easier to focus on what bothers us instead of the goodness that is going on. Mood, you can't always control it but it definitely helps when you do what you can to improve your mood instead of letting yourself be miserable without trying to find a solution to change the way you feel.
A goal for right now is to use these last few months to make as many memories as I can before I graduate high school. I want to work on getting good grades, too of course but I really want to focus on the fact that this is my last year. I got good advice from a guest speaker I listened to and he said "Your whole life is planned for you, until you graduate high school. You're on your own to make your own decsions. You don't have to listen to people telling you what you have to do". A goal for the next few years is for me to go to college and make something of myself. A goal for further down in the future is to have a career that I will still be enjoying and to be successful and happy with the place I am. To start a family and own my own house. A goal for further down is that when it comes time to retire is that I followd all of this and I have time to make plenty more experiences. I like in the video how Les Brown mentions to not think about how you're going to complete your goals but just continue to make goals and achieve them without constant thinking.
Three words from the pyramid of success that I think are important are skill, altertness and friendship. Skills are always so important and can be useful in many different ways, even if you don't need to necessarily think you need to know at that time it's always good to know and can come in handy. You never know what the future will bring, having extra skills can be useful at many different points. Alertness, being aware of what's going on can always help you stay ahead of the game. It helps to stay focused and on top of what is going on. You don't have to worry about falling behind or being stressed out. Friendship having friends always comes in handy. Being alert is definitely release of stress as well. Friends are always there for you and definitely help you get on the right track. Make sure the friendsyou pick will cause happiness in your life and not drama. Good friends can be found all around, and it's important you keep the friendships you make that help to better yourself and even them. Having a lot of friends may be fun, but having friends who are going to be there with you through everything and that you can count on are even better.
Over the holiday break I'll probably do some homework, and watch my nephews a lot like always. However, for the big things on Christmas Eve my grandma and I will begin to prepare food for Christmas day. We have to make homemade stuffing, pumpkin pies, and cheesecake. Then Christmas day we'll make the ham, turkey and homemade mashed potatoes and whatever other sides. I'll also at some point watch It's a Wonderful Life with my grandma. We watch that every year together. On Christmas day everyone will come over for dinner, I also have to make time to stop by and see my dads side of the family. My favorite part of Christmas is just seeing all my family together, plus the excitement of my nephews with Santa is adorable. I don't really have any big plans except to catch up on some sleep and hangout with family and friends. I'm mainly just excited to watch Christmas movies, especially Charlie Browns Christmas and the Grinch just because I do that every year but I already started watching sappy Christmas movies on Netflix so I'll continue that path.
