I was inspired by a blog called 17 Tips to Become Happy by Arvind Devalia. One of the very true points that he made was to look for the positive things in your life. I like this because I know that when I'm down I don't think of what is going good for me I think of all the things that are wrong. But, I think that thinking of all the positives in your life to help to eliminate the negative is a great idea. Obviously everyone is going to get done at points but being able to focus on the good is great. Look for ways of helping other people, if you're helping others it's a big help on you also, being able to make a positive impact on someone else gives you a bit of light to be able to look at. Always smile, make time to smile be positive even when you don't feel like being positive. It helps you have a reason to smile if you don't feel like you have any. The way you carry yourself really makes a difference in how you feel. You can't always be positive but it's a good idea to do your best to try to be happy even when you feel as if you shouldn't be. You may always have a reason to be negative but there's always a reason to be positive as well. Work more towards the positives.
http://www.arvinddevalia.com/blog/2007/02/28/17-tips-to-become-happy-right-now/ I really liked the point Mitch Albom made about how we shouldn't be shocked and we shouldn't be so quick to judge. He explains how we have made past judgments on other presidents and majority of the time they turn out to be wrong. Further explained is how we don't know what is going to happen, but judging that is just not going to help. That doesn't have a purpose, all it does is make everything worse. Trump may turn out bad like many believe or maybe he will mature and surprise the ones who don't believe in him but either way we don't know, so all of the extra stuff going on doesn't make anything better for anyone. Another point was pin pointing the type of people for who would vote for her, that also needs to stop. Once again all that's doing is causing drama and instead of bringing our country together it is tearing us apart. This is not so different from any other election, every election people vote for who they want or the best option. Same thing happened here, but everyone should be able to have their own opinion. For our country to come together we really just need to stop with all the rude comments and the arguing, that is just driving everyone apart, at this point the election is over and it is what it is, arguing just makes matters worse and doesn't solve anything, everyone needs to put their differences aside and stick together.
"Try to look at your weakness and turn it into a strength. That's success." this is a quote said by Zig Ziglar. I feel as if one of my main weaknesses is being too forgiving, there is a point where I feel as if I should stop giving everyone so many chances, it can be stressful by giving everyone so many chances and I often end up being the one who gets hurt however I think that it is definitely can be s strength and a weakness however. This can be considered a strength because it is often good to be an open and welcoming person, everyone needs someone, some people just aren't as good at showing it. However, in the long run I think it's just important to find a middle to help and find a middle to be forgiving but to keep yourself at a good place too. Losing my Papa was really hard on myself and my family however; I think it worked best that all of my family really stuck together and everyone was there for everyone. Weakness and success are both made out to what you want them to be."The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance." This quote was by Brian Tracy, I picked this quote because I feel like it has a meaningful message. In life love and acceptance are two things that are so important, probably to everyone in some type of way. Being loved by family, friends and even your pets give you such a bigger purpose for your life, they definitely can be the ones to keep you going during rough times of your life, and even the good times it's always nice just to feel inspired with the positive impact others can have on you. Acceptance is so important and I definitely think feeling accepted will help you get further in life, this gives an extra boost of confidence at the times you need it. Being accepted can give you that extra boost of support also, some people may not believe in something they want to do because of the lack of acceptance they have with what they want to do, but with that acceptance I think it really gives a good boost. Love and acceptance will definitely make some type of impact whether you realize it or not.
John Maxwell said 'Success can be very subjective." This is very true and something to think about, success can be different for each individual. It can also vary on different events on why it was successful. I like how he says "Success is knowing my purpose in life" that is so important. If you want to be successful the main person who has to believe in you is you, personally I know I push myself harder than others push me and it definitely makes me have to work harder for myself. When knowing your purpose that is what helps you to find success. To have confidence in yourself and knowing your self worth makes it so much easier for you to succeed. Personally, I feel like I succeed at different levels, however I don't always give myself credit. Something I should definitely work on is being able to have the confidence to help me further succeed.
Stress can be helped in a variety of ways, some need more help than others and some just don't try for help. A big thing I think will make an impact on helping with stress would be keeping a stress journal. Keeping a stress journal would definitely help me to see what is pointless stress or what I should find techniques to help relive stress first. I think this will especially help once I start college this way I can keep track of all my classes and what I have to get done. Another thing that might help is seeking help, when I say this I mean maybe if I'm having a tough time in a class instead of stressing about maybe I can ask for extra help. These two things are just a start that will definitely help me eliminate at least a good portion of stress. Through another article I read I found out that keeping a stress journal can eliminate anxiety and depression. Keeping a stress journal just helps you overall stay focused, and help you let out negative emotion. It is said that some prefer pen and pencil however if you prefer typing there are sights they offer for free. These sights keep all your information private and you can add journals whenever you want.
http://www.everydayhealth.com/longevity/journal-for-stress-relief.aspx Confidence, it is always a good thing to have some type of confidence whether it's in what you do or how you feel about yourself. There's definitely a limit when it comes to being confident and over confident. But, having a decent amount of confidence where you like yourself for who you are is definitely a great thing. Friendship is definitely important, whether it is with your friends or your family. Friendship is what keeps you going, and the friends you have our supposed to be the ones to push you the most, Loyalty, this can be with anyone or anything really. Being loyal is such a great characteristic to have. This truly helps you live a better life. The three above words are all important for many reasons and I believe they can make a big difference on the type of person you are.
It's pretty clear that everyone has bad days, but that doesn't define who you are as a person, even more so if you don't let it. When I think of what Jim Rohn said "you either run the day or the day runs you" I think of when you're having a bad day you can't let it make you that type of person. If you're having a bad day just realize that a part of if you feel better the next day, or even later that day is partially up to you and how you decide to handle it, You can have a bad day and pout about it or you can have a bad day and try to think of ways to improve it or how you will make tomorrow better. Sometimes this is easier said than done or sometimes it may feel impossible to do, but how your life goes is definitely largely impacted on what you're making out of each of your choices and mistakes.
"Success depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character". This quote was said by Arnold Palmer. I like this quote because some people have certain standers on how a person has to be. However, in reality everyone has their own meaning of success. Just because there's a general meaning does not mean that the meaning has to be your definition. Success can stretch far and mean many different things, rather the thing you are successful at be big or small. Everyone is their own person, everyone has different characteristics and a different thought process. That doesn't mean that you're wrong or aren't successful it just means that you have different goals, different expectations for yourself and that is more than okay. It's sad that people fall into stereotypes and believe that everything has to be a certain way, but in reality success is success, as long as you reached your personal goal that's what matters.
